The full PCP checker calculates the 50% figure from deposit, scheduled monthly payments, balloon/GMFV and option fee, then compares it with the deposit and monthly payments entered as paid so far.
Why the balloon matters
For PCP, the balloon is part of Total Amount Payable. This is why reaching half the contract duration is not normally the same as reaching the 50% financial figure.

Important: general information only. Your agreement and circumstances matter. Confirm figures and rights with your finance provider and seek appropriate advice where needed.
Why PCP reaches 50% later than many people expect
The relevant contract value includes the deferred balloon amount, so paying half the monthly instalments does not necessarily mean you have paid half of the Total Amount Payable. Use the 50% figure printed in your agreement if it is available.
This is a progress calculator, not a legal test
Voluntary termination rights depend on the agreement and circumstances. Arrears, vehicle condition and other liabilities can matter. The calculator only compares amounts entered; it does not tell a lender to accept a termination.
Do not confuse VT with settlement
A settlement quotation clears finance under a different mechanism. The 50% VT figure and settlement figure are not interchangeable.
